Ross Lovegrove was born in 1958 in Cardiff, Wales and graduated from Manchester polytechnic with a BA in Hons Industrial Design in 1980 and became a Master of Design at the Royal College of Art in 1983. He worked as a designer for Frog Design in West Germany, then returned to London in 1986 and has done design work for many prestigious companies since then. He has had work featured in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Guggenheim, the Axis Centre Japan, the Pompidou Centre, along with several others, and has procured many design awards over the years, including the Red Dot Design Award in 2010, The Vogue Traveller Ecology Prize in 2007 for his Solar Tree Design, and various others.
