Achille Castiglioni

Achille Castiglioni was an influential industrial designer who was born in 1918 in Milan and graduated with a degree in architecture in 1944. After that he dedicated his life to experimental design with the help of his two brothers and they directed their minds toward urban planning, architecture, and design. They research materials and methods for "integral design", Achille himself became one of the founding members of the Association for Design Industry as well as chaired the Faculty of Architecture in Turin, Italy from 1969-1980. His designs won 9 Compasso d'Oro design awards between 1955 and 1989, and had a successful personal exhibit of designs that toured from 1984-1986. His designs continued to improve lives, and win awards until he died in Milan on December 2nd, 2002.
