Mood Board and Color Scheme for Layouts

This is the mood board for all of the layouts I did. Mr. Rashid has a very particular color palette that he always follows, I figured it was only right to incorporate it into an informative spread about him.

Enjoy!

Rough Layouts for Karim Rashid's Book Section

Our next project is to create a two spread layout about a designer of our choice and compile 4 of these spreads (ours and our classmates) into a book we bind ourselves! I ended up choosing Karim Rashid as my designer, which I'm incredibly happy about because I have a bit of a design-crush on his work. So, here are my first 3 rough layouts of how I want to present him in the book. The most important part at this point was figuring out what colors work and which combinations are the most effective while the least overpowering.

My group gave me a lot of great suggestions as far as changing layout and experimenting with things of that nature, so be on the lookout for the updates! The first and last ideas are the two I'm refining for class on Thursday. Thoughts?

Book Binding Research Time :)

Research can be really fun when it's about something intriguing, especially when you give yourself time to follow up on tangents!

So here are some of the things I found:

I'm slightly obsessed with books if you couldn't tell. Ebooks don't hold any water for me! Craft and a physical copy of any loved text is a must!
