Karim Rashid

Karim Rashid was born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1960, and is categorized as an industrial designer and interior architect. His designs won the George Nelson Design Award in1999, the Canadian Designer of the Year award in 2001, and the Red Dot Design Award in 2012 on a collaboration with the Danish design company BoConcept known as the Ottowa Collection. He has been called one of the most "prolific designers of his generation" and is accredited with over 3000 designs in production, over 300 awards, and designs in over 40 countries. He has worked on luxury good products, furniture, restaurants, and hotels all over the world. He also frequently lectures at universities about the importance of design in everyday life.
